Building the Bridge Together September 18-19, 2020 The theme for the 2020 North Texas Annual Conference is “Building the Bridge Together.” The North Texas Annual Conference will be on September 18th and 19th. Kim French and Pastor Carol will attend sessions and voting on legislation via Zoom. Plan to enjoy Kim’s message on our life as a connected church.
Discipleship Faithfulness Administrative Council Meeting Tuesday, September 22, 2020 6:30 p.m. Organizational Team Reports Trustees July was busy. We got the parsonage ready for the new pastor, repaired an old gas line and an AC compressor, and we set up the church to follow our plan for returning to the building. Our hand sanitizer machines will be replaced next week. Finance Our giving for the month of July is down a bit at $7,105.00 and our expenses were up because of building repairs and preparing the building for reopening. We have faith that we will rally and we want to thank you for your faithfulness in giving during these hard times. Grab & Go VBS Workshop of WondersImagine & Build with God WednesdaysJune 10, 17 & 24, 20206:30 p.m. It will come as no surprise that COVID-19 has altered our plans for Vacation Bible School this summer. While it will be unlike any year before, we still plan to share God’s word and some fun with our community’s children. Instead of a single week, we will host a “Grab & Go VBS” for three Wednesdays in June (June 10, 17, & 24, 2020) at 6:30 p.m. Each night, we will offer a hot to-go meal along with a grab bag that includes a Bible story, a take-home craft, a goody, and more. We plan to use the Workshop of Wonders theme – think hard hats and tool belts. Early bird registration for 2020 summer camps will be opening soon at Bridgeport Camp. If your child is interested, check out BridgeportCamp.org to see which camp week to register. There are elementary camps for those that have completed grades 3-5, junior high camps for those that have completed grades 6-8, senior high for those that have completed grades 9-12, and a music camp for those that have completed grades 3-6. Please let Kim know if your child or youth plans to attend so adequate funds can be raised to help assist with cost.

Fresh Expressions During the month of August, Pastor Veronica will be doing a study titled “Fresh Expressions” using the book by Kenneth Carter Jr. and Audrey Warren. At the North Texas Annual Conference, a workshop was offered to all clergy and lay members of the conference to strive to develop ways to reach the people who are not in churches in our community and find ways to focus on new faces to minister to and new places to do ministry. An invitation to all members of our congregation to attend this study to engage our congregation to evaluate our current mission and ministries.
