Being imperfect is perfectly human. God created us as “good” not “perfect.” Every story shared in scripture is drawn from the belief that God can accomplish much even in the most flawed of humanity.
Why do we shun “imperfect” as a valuable and defining trait of our design?
Somewhere along the line, especially as Christians, we have created perfection as a god for ourselves. We worship perfection and have justified our mindset by quoting scripture such as Matthew 5:48 that says, ‘Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.’ Do you honestly believe Jesus was setting up his disciples to be a constant disappointment to themselves, family and even God?
